Sage was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy in the late-Summer of 2013. With the help of modern medicine she was able to return to mobility and her mood improved. In December 2013, we noticed she was having trouble eating. A visit to the vet found a tumor growing on her upper palette near the back of her throat. The vet informed us these things grow quickly, so we returned for another visit on the second day of the New Year. He noted the tumor had grown from about 1-inch diameter to almost 2-inches and advised us to plan for goodbyes very soon, while Sage was still a happy girl.
We said our final goodbye to the most wonderful black lab mix on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Sage was loved and will be missed by many. She is survived by owners’, Mike, Zack, and Garrett; and many close friends and family members.
